Even though I've attended a number of colleges over the years, this is the first time I am at a competitive sports school. I finally made it! And although there probably aren't any Heisman Trophy winners here, it's certainly fun to be cheering on a team from a full student section.
Yesterday, we went to Reser Stadium for Oregon State's second home game. It was a nice break from all the smoke down at the Andrews.
The OSU Beavers took on University of Minnesota Gophers and got smashed. After starting the game with an abysmal score of 0-17, OSU managed to get the game within one score by halftime at 14-20. At this point, it had been raining pretty steadily and the wind was starting to pick up. Good for fighting the fires, bad for us getting soaked in the stands.
But in the second half, the Gophers pulled away, scoring 24 unanswered points. And that was the game: 14-48. Next up, away at Washington State!
